Sailors are a superstitious bunch. From bananas being bad luck to renaming a boat without a ceremony, the sea has its own rules. We broke a few of these traditions during our boatâs renaming, but with respect and a little luck, the ocean was still kind. đ⨠Would you follow the old sailor superstitions or break them? Tell us in the comments. Ready to make your own memories on the water. Superstitions optional. Good days guaranteed. đ Book your sail with us here: www.lazysheetsailing.com #SailingSuperstitions #SailingSXM #StMaarten
The new MC² Quick Gyro X2 and MC² Quick Gyro X3 stabilizers are designed to be installed on small boats. More specifically, the first is perfect for day cruisers and small-sized center console boats while the second is suited to sportfish and small cabin cruisers. For all these boats featuring small storage room and usually powered by inboard engines, a compact 12V battery-powered stabilizer is the ideal option. Gineico Marine represent leading Italian heavy duty marine hardware in Australia and New Zealand. Contact Us to discuss the best option for your boat.
At the Miami boat show, reviewer Gary Reich found a great example of a modern pontoon boat: the Bennington 2575. Except that it isn't exactly a pontoon; more accurately, it's described as a tri-toon. That's because this boat actually has three pontoons under the deck. At the westcoast of Portugal, about 50 km below Porto, you'll find the charming city of Aviero. On it's canals, the moliceiro boats sail. They look stylish and elegant like a gondola. In the past, this type of boat was used to collect seaweed in the lagoon. With a kind of rakes that are attached to the boat, the weed could be removed from the shallow bottom. It was then used as fertilizer in agriculture. Now these Portuguese boats are now used for tourist boat trips. It was a pleasure to see them pass by, with happy tourists in it. The canals have colorful bridges and I made a video of a violinist standing next to the bridge, as the moliceiro boats pass by.
