As always the Cork 1720's were out in force for Volvo Cork Week 2024 this orange kite followed Going to Red the majority of the way down the run after rounding the top mark With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Prüfungsvorbereitung: SBF Binnen unter Segel, Segelmanöver grafisch illustriert: Beim Wende - Manöver kreuzen wir mit dem Bug durch den Wind. Kommandofolge: Steuermann: "Klar zur Wende?" Vorschoter legt die Vorschot zurecht und meldet: "Ist klar!" Steuermann: "Rhe!". Die Pinne wird weggedrückt (Anluven) Der Steuermann ruft "Über die Segel", sobald das Vorsegel killt. Das Boot dreht durch den Wind. Der Steuermann setzt sich auf die Luvseite und der Vorschoter nimmt die Leeseite ein und holt die Vorschot wieder dicht. Das Wendemanöver ist abgeschlossen.
