Welcome to Navel Gazing at Camp David Shorts. I'm your host, Johnathan. In this short, we're setting sail into the world of high-speed cruising with the Code Zero sail. Discover its role in reaching and broad-reaching conditions on a catamaran, with an emphasis on its effectiveness in light to moderate winds. For further insights, consider: 'Sailing For Dummies, Second Edition' by J.J. Isler and Peter Isler 'The Complete Sailor, Second Edition' by David Seidman. Don't miss the chance to subscribe to our YouTube channel, Navel Gazing at Camp David, and explore full tours and reviews of catamarans and monohulls with your host, David Orton. ► Full test in Special Edition #18: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/vaan-r4-meticulous-design-using-recycled-aluminum ► The aim of this new Dutch builder is to launch a range of luxury catamarans based on a maximum of recycled elements - the hulls of the R4 are made of 50% recycled aluminum from window frames, road signs or license plates - and ecological materials such as cork or vegetable alternatives to leather. On deck, the two helm stations - one on each hull - and the absence of a rigid bimini are striking. The principle is to enjoy beautiful sensations at the helm. A removable cover can nevertheless be fitted. Inside, the yard wishes to break away from general trends and propose a design closer to the codes used in luxury hotels. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Vaan Yachts Length: 42’ (12.80 m) Beam: 23’3” (7.10 m) Displacement: 24,000 lbs (10.9 t) Mainsail: 592 sq ft (55 m²) Solent: 323 sq ft (30 m²) Engines: 2 x 10 or 15 kW Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
