Join us as we explore the thrilling world of competitive sailing, where boats clash in intense racing events like the Narrows Regatta 2025. On Strangford Lough, sailboats like the Elan 37 and J109 engage in close crosses, showcasing the skills of experienced sailors navigating port and starboard. The J109, a popular choice for sailing and racing, is often seen in action at events like the Narrows Regatta, where the IRC yachting rules apply. With its sleek design, the Elan yacht is a force to be reckoned with on the water, while the J109 sailboat demonstrates its capabilities in sailing life and sailing lifestyle. Redline Racing and other sailing channels often feature similar regatta racing events, where the goal is to outmaneuver opponents and cross the finish line first. First time in the Atlantic!! We have a furler problem we need to fix so we are heading out around marathon key. Off grid living comes with it’s unique set of problem that need fixing. Especially when off grid means living on a boat. We were anchored on the gulf side and the boat yard is on the Atlantic side so away we go! Two hour cruise around the island to get to a spot that would take ten minutes to walk to lol! Quit a large change of pace from life on land to living on a boat! Thankfully we are no longer in a rush to do much of anything these days, so a little day cruise is under way! Sadly the sails stay down for this one. Next time though.
