SAILING GENTLY has around 90 videos from French Canal Routes to the Mediterranean with the companion book having sold over 6,000 copies and the Atlantic Crossing Guide video that has had some 362 thousand views. The Gentle Sailing Route to the Mediterranean has had around 50 thousand views and the book has sold almost 4,000 copies. Closer to home there are a series of pilotage videos about how to sail into almost all the French channel ports from CHERBOURG TO BOULOGNE SUR MER including Le Havre and Fécamp as well as St Vaast, Dieppe and Grandecamp Maisy and lots more. There are also pilotage videos of UK marinas from Eastbourne to Dartmouth and Alderney and then videos about wind vanes and autopilots. My boat is now based in the Caribbean so there are videos about putting her on a ship and the costs involved, as well as which are the best Caribbean Islands and marina costs. You might find 'Attacked by Pirates' in the Gulf of Aden - interesting!

A staysail is a type of sail that is typically smaller than the main sail on a boat, and is attached to a stay (a wire or rope) that connects to the mast of the vessel. It can be used in a variety of wind conditions, but is particularly useful in stronger winds, when the larger main sail may be difficult to handle. In our case we’re using it because our furler is broken and we can’t use the headsail. Staysails are often used for upwind sailing, and can help to balance the boat by reducing the amount of weather helm (the tendency of the boat to turn into the wind). They can also be used in conjunction with a larger headsail or spinnaker to help control the boat’s speed and direction in varying wind conditions. Staysails are commonly found on sailing yachts and other sailing vessels, and can be made from a variety of materials, including Dacron, Kevlar, and other synthetic fibers. #staysail #sailboat #sailinglife
