As part of the 2025 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, shortly after the start as the boat passed Bondi Beach LawConnect Owner Christian Beck and Australian swimming legend Ian Thorpe AM honoured those who lost their lives in the recent Bondi terror attack by scattering rose petals. Fifteen yachts representing the race’s organisers, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia – one for every victim who sadly lost their life during the tragedy - were also part of the memoriam. A host of other competitors joined in honouring those lost on December 14, 2025.

Cuauhtémoc 90m. Mexican Navy training ship . 2 people die and 20 injured . What happened ? 17/5/25 The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. local time as the ship was departing from New York's Pier 17, where it had been docked at the South Street Seaport Museum for five days of public viewing. The ship's masts - bedecked in lights - struck the bridge, breaking on impact and sending debris falling onto the vessel's deck. But the Cuauhtémoc was never supposed to approach the Brooklyn Bridge - it was moving in the "wrong direction," a senior city official with knowledge of the investigation told CNN. As it made its way out of the harbor, it was supposed to make a stop at a Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, fueling dock before heading out to sea on its way to Iceland, the official said. This is truly a one of a kind tour that we have tailor made with the help of our hosts at Pelagic Safari in Cabo San Lucas. This tour is all about getting in the water and snorkeling alongside some of the ocean's most charismatic creatures. For one week we will indulge in the bounty that the Sea of Cortez offers with stops in Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Magdalena Bay on the Pacific coast. March is arguably the best month for snorkeling the Sea of Cortez as it's when all the big animals congregate here. With a bit of luck and the first hand knowledge of the team at Pelagic Safari we can expect to swim along side whale sharks, playful colonies of sea lions, sea turtles and a variety of shark species like blue sharks, silkie sharks and possibly smooth hammerheads. What's more is that this time of year coincides with whale season, so you are not only likely to see humpbacks, gray whales, blue whales, and orcas from the boat, but you may be able to swim along side them as well!
