The most popular question we get is “how do you afford to live on a sailboat and travel the world” For 20 years we lived like no one so that today we could live like no one. Steve and I got pregnant when I was 18, married by 20. He got a job as a firefighter for Boise, but we were still not making ends meet. Instead of making excuses, I said what can I do as a stay at home mom with a high school diploma? I started a dance studio in my garage. I spent the entire summer walking the streets of our town, putting flyers on door knobs and that first season we had 50 students! When Steve was off shift, he picked up a second job doing real estate. I grew my dance studio where we needed to open up a second studio, so we moved to Meridian. By this point we discovered our dream to someday sail the world. (It started off as our retirement plan) Steve grew his real estate and started a team naming it “Full Sail Real Estate” to remind him why we do what we do. We moved the dance studio to a facility as we had over 250 students. Steve picked up a 3rd job doing loans, sometimes working until midnight. By this point we had 3 kids and I was pregnant with Karver, we decided it was time to sell the dance studio. But, at 36 weeks pregnant I decided to start an airbrush tanning business. Steve bought and sold his first flip house, and we created the plan to start acquiring rental properties. We moved to another house and turned our previous home into our first rental. After 15 years as a firefighter Steve made the hardest decision to quit the fire department to go all in in real estate. Steve then moved to new construction sells in real estate and after 6 years of doing tans I got certified to be a life coach. Our goal was the focus of every decision, every purchase we made. We drove old cars, wore used clothes, never purchased hardly anything new, and lived well below our means. By this point our daughter was a sophomore in high school, gone all the time and our family was going in all different directions. Steve and I looked at eachother and thought “what the hell is all this for?”
