hello! It has been a rough few weeks onboard with working through all of the possible routes and weather windows to sail through the Bahamas during what is supposed to be a very active hurricane season. We would have been rushing through and that just seemed silly. So, we’ve come to the difficult decision that it safest for us to sail north until early fall before making our way back south. The 2018 sailing season on New York's Long Island Sound ended Nov. 24th with the Turkey Day Reach. It was a cold and grey, but a great way to sail away a Thanksgiving food coma. This video shows how well SOULMATES' Uni-Titanium mainsail is holding up after three full seasons of racing. The sail is still smooth, strong and fast. Thank you to Todd Aven for shooting these clips during the last race of a great season, in which Soulmates won the Gitanna Trophy -- awarded by the YRA of LIS for the season championship for the fastest PHRF boats.
