On Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 as the sailboat fleets made their way in from the evening races, they were glad to beat the thunderstorm that was coming in from the west. Just at dusk eye witnesses saw a lightning bolt hit a 30 ft ketch swinging on a mooring in McKinley harbor, downtown Milwaukee. " It lit up like a Christmas tree" was how one observer described the event. Within an hour the boat was under water with just portions of the masts showing. www.forespar.com #Forespar #products #sailing #whisker #pole #whiskerpole #downwind #ocean #sea #docking #power #powerboating #powerboat #sailingboat #tutorial #boating #newport #california Visit Our Website! www.forespar.com Follow us on our social media: https://www.instagram.com/foresparproducts/ https://twitter.com/ForesparSailing

Bowline Knot is the most useful and most popular knot in the world of sailing – it is easy to tie, but also to untie. It is, however, extremely firm and secure. Watch more How to tie videos: https://www.sailingeurope.com/blog/sailing-knots Learn how to tie a Bowline Knot: Step1: Form a loop Form a loop by simply crossing the two sides of the line. Step 2: Line through the rope At this point, you should have two ends – a free and a standing one. As you’ve made the loop, bring the free end of the line through the rope (as some like to say – the rabbit comes out of the hole). Step 3: Wrap it Wrap it around the standing end and bring it back through the loop (the rabbit goes around the tree and then back into the hole). Step 4: Tighten Tighten the knot by pulling both ends.

Mickey H. met another couple at the Fountaine Pajot factory in La Rochelle whose dealer did not meet their expectations. Mickey's experience was smooth sailing with the Atlantic Cruising Yachts staff on the ground at the Fountaine Pajot factory guiding him every step of the way. --- "Another aspect of differentiating ACY from other dealers… when I was in La Rochelle I met another couple that bought a Saona 47. We got to talking and turns out their dealer: 1. Didn’t have a local rep, 2. Their dealer… essentially once they took possession of the boat in La Rochelle, the dealer was gone - didn’t support them at all. They had to hire a local representative, a local French person who was their rep, was their “Baptiste” - Baptiste being the ACY rep I had - They had to hire their own. And it caused them some frustration and some anxiety just trying to maneuver through the process. So that’s another benefit to ACY."
