A Compass for Further Exploration: Recommended Reads Dive deeper into the lore of the Atlantic with these enthralling reads: "Atlantic: The Last Great Race of Princes" by Scott Cookman, published by Wiley in 2023. Weatherly was designed specifically for single-handed sailing and achieved the highest speed possible from a 65-foot boat. To meet these ambitious targets, this deep-draught boat has a displacement of just eighteen tonnes – equivalent to that of a Volvo 60! No option was left unexplored in the effort to keep the boat as lightweight as possible, and she was built in West epoxy with carbon spars, 3DL sails and a carbon rudder.
