This week we skipped our weekly video as we have been busy with home renovations and simply lack of sailing. However, we never miss an opportunity to embrace natures beauty, this time in the form of a common dolphin family swimming by our anchorage. Two of the four adults had younglings with them, who they seem to be teaching. Pretty cool to spot them by your front door ! Nature is awesome and nature needs us as much as we need it ! Perhaps modern technology will and already is able to show us the incredible similarities we all share, the complex social behaviours and interactions, the meaning of family and so much more :) Ps. Even the anchorage which was protected by two sea walls was rough, I filmed this inside the harbor heading from Monroe Harbor to the Chicago Lock. There were waves crashing and cascading on the outer seawall--wish I would have filmed them as the morning sunrise made them visible.
