The Ocean Race Europe is a north-south European offshore race scheduled to take place in 2025, ahead of the 2026/27 edition of the round-the-world Race. It will start in the Baltic Sea, sail across the North Sea and the Atlantic, through the Strait of Gibraltar, and finish in the Mediterranean, with up to five stops along the way (in addition to the start and finish ports). Despite cyclone warning, we headed off to climb the Le Morne Mountain in Mauritius. The hike is 3.5 km one way - easy trail to the basecamp, where the trail become a bit steep and several sections are nearly rock climbing - not to be undertaken by the faint hearted and definitely not when raining….. We did the climb before the rain started and had a wonderful, not so hot climb.
