The 45′ Downeast Cruiser Doghouse was designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by New England Boatworks in 2005. She is capable of long-range cruising, yet is simple enough to be an effective weekender. Some of her many features include a shallow-draft, seakindly hull, planing speeds, extensive sound insulation, redundant equipment, and low maintenance. Après plusieurs mois de navigation, j'arrive enfin sur Ilulissat dans la baie de Disko, au-dessus du cercle polaire arctique. La navigation au Groenland est toujours aussi difficile, mais depuis mon voilier, j'observe les baleines à bosses et les immenses icebergs qui malgré les dangers rendent cette aventure totalement inoubliable.
