The J109 is a fantastic racer - cruiser competitive across all wind ranges they are super stable in big breeze which allows you to drive the boat hard even when the puffs are above 20 knots. Come on board Bottom up Boats J109 "Going to Red" in race 1 of the Quoile 2 day regatta as we blast across the bottom reach at over 9 knots. With the A4 setting perfectly the crew are in complete control of the IRC 1 race. The crew is working perfectly to keep the boat flat and fast while setting up for the drop at kite at the bottom mark. The kite trimmer was making life easy for the skipper while keeping the boat at top speed, easing the kite into the puffs and trimming perfectly as the apparent wind moves forward as the boat speed build. Well done to the Redline Racing team who over came a few issue in race 2 to finish with 2 bullets after the first day Thank to the Quoile Yacht club located on the western shores of strangford lough for putting on a great day of racing. Is a 30 mile round trip too far in a dinghy? Not if you're running a Highfield Sport 420! We LOVE this inflatable! It is fast (40 mph), light (can be towed behind a car) and extremely capable. When we hit the first 3-foot boat wake in it at 15 mph, the bow went up and we braced ourselves for a big crash landing, but it never came. Instead the little 420 landed softly, as though we landed on down pillows. I looked at my wife and she at me... both of us smiling and agreeing this was an awesome purchase! WindFoiling shares many of the fundamental foiling principals with other foiling classes and is the sport of riding a windsurf board with a hydrofoil attached to it. WindFoiling allows a windsurfer to sail with their board above the water by riding the foil which remains submerged beneath the surface. It might seem like WindFoiling, and Windsurfing are similar. They both rely on wind in their sails to get moving, and much of the equipment can be used for either sport. The skills acquired through windsurfing are transferable to WindFoiling, so it is important a sailor develops these basic skills first, if they wish to pursue a WindFoiling pathway.
