It was all plan sailing until the skipper forgot to duck. The speed at which the boom crosses the boat during a gybe makes it a dangerous weapon. The Golden Gate can be a challenging gate to sail through. The wind accelerates and shifts sometimes wildly. We call these the gremlins. Thankfully we made it through without a wipeout, even with a gybe right under the bridge.
