Both are great for tying fenders to guardrails, the Ground-line is a little more secure, but there's not much in it. 🔸 For both, wind the rope around the rail and cross over diagonally. There is a slight difference where you tuck the working end between the hitches. 🔸 Both knots are easy when you get the hang of them. Tack the boat, turn downwind and sail back down and slightly past the victim so that you will approach from a downwind position. Position the victim on the windward side of the boat. If you're learning to sail, you should know this information before venturing out. When turning on engines, always check for lines in the water that can entangle the prop.
