Our friend Solo takes us on a barefoot hike to one of his gardens. This is not like the gardens you're used to seeing. To make their garden, first they burn, then cut the trees by axe. the wood is then used as a retainer to support the steep slopes from erosion. Due to the constant manual labour required to maintain these wild gardens, garden houses are often constructed using the felled wood to create shelter for cooking, resting/sleeping and of course chewing Betel Nut ? Unlike modern farming methods, there is no use of fertiliser, pesticides, herbicides, irrigation or electricity. Instead, rain, sun, and the native soil are all the plant needs. It all becomes evident when you taste the difference in the produce. This is true organic farming not just a marketing gimmick like is often the case in Western societies. IRC class Two kicked things off with the multihulls starting last 40 minutes later ?? And after rounding the eastern end of Antigua, the fleet cracked sheets to head north to the next mark off Barbuda. Among the talking points ahead of this year's race there was plenty of attention focused on the IRC fleets, especially on the big guns.

This behind the scenes video gives some insight into why I chose the imagery that I did for this 8 layer handmade reduction linoprint, inspired by Janus, an ancient Roman god, the origin story of the Roman calendar month name of January. This video is part 1 of a 12 part series, I am challenging myself to create one new print per month based on the origin of month names from the ancient roman calendar. To be historically accurate Janus is typically presented as a two headed man, but I put my own artistic twist on this, and I hope you like it as much as I hugely enjoyed making it. ? Full test in Multihulls World N°202: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/aquila-46-coupe-a-sporty-weekender ? The second model in the Coupe range stands out from the usual power catamaran weekenders in that it is much larger - this segment of the market typically ranges from 36 to 42 feet. So, Aquila Power Catamarans is taking a daring gamble with this 46, which has just two cabins. This size corresponds to classic cruisers with much greater sleeping capacity, or to large powercats dedicated to fishing. The second original feature of this new 46 Coupe is that its powertrain - proportionally a little less powerful than that aboard the 42 - is available either outboard or diesel-powered. Here again, the manufacturer is thinking outside the box - and so much the better! The deck layout, like that of the 42 Coupe, features a vast aft cockpit with a central passage through the nacelle to the bow-rider. ? Technical specifications: Builder: Aquila Power Catamarans Length overall: 47'04" (14.44 m) Beam: 17'11" (5.46 m) Draft: 3'7" (1.08 m) to 4'1" (1.23 m) depending on powertrain option and tilt angle Air draft: 11' (3.36 m) Light displacement: 31,970 lbs (14.5 t) Motors: 2 x 600 HP O/B or 2 x 440 HP I/B Fuel: 616 US gal (2,334 l) CE Certification: B 12, C22, D32 ?
