Våra barn har inget sommarlov. Eller kanske är det tvärtom, att de har lite sommarlov varje dag. Här ombord fortsätter lärandet året runt, men på ett sätt som passar vår familj. Barnen har sovmorgon varje dag. Sedan gör de en stund med sina skolböcker, men resten av dagen fylls av sådant som också är lärande, att utforska nya platser, läsa kartor, räkna när vi handlar, prata engelska med människor vi möter, snorkla bland koraller, fiska, laga mat och lösa de små utmaningar som livet ombord bjuder på. För oss sker lärande inte bara framför en skolbok sittandes på en stol. Det händer hela tiden. Det här upplägget passar oss så bra. Barnen får vara utvilade, de har gott om tid för lek och nyfikenhet, och vi upplever att de lär sig mycket när lärandet får vara en naturlig del av livet istället för något som bara sker vissa timmar på dagen.
