One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on BBC South East Today evening news on leaving Brighton Marina at the start of her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. She is attempting to become the first female wheelchair user to complete a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. Two new things today. First, a replacement for our much abused Makita drill which has given up. The grip on the chuck for changing drills was already worn to the point of being very hard to tighten or release, the motor has been struggling for a while too. So new, more powerful one with harder wearing metal parts. Plus the cutest little kettle for our Refleks stove. Now we don't need to use electricity (if we have the diesel stove on) to make tea/coffere or do the washing up :-) We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP.
