Here is an update on the sewing project 🔊 Five days in, and the cockpit enclosure is really starting to take shape! ✂️🪡 This week, we finished cutting all the fabric, sewed in (almost) all the windows, and added zippers to the bimini for a proper fit. The sprayhood is also coming together—we rigged up a rope system through the cove molding (am I even saying it right???) to help tension it. Next week: another test fitting! Stay tuned to see how it all comes together. 🫣🤞
🇬🇧 This has now been achieved by Yoann Richomme, who has just launched the Argo float that he took on board his IMOCA. This float will send information on the temperature and salinity of the water at the surface and in the depths. ------------------------ ➡️ SUIVEZ-NOUS ! // FOLLOW US ! 🔗 Website : www.vendeeglobe.org 📸 Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/vendeeglobe/ 🐦 Twitter FR : https://twitter.com/VendeeGlobe | Twitter ENG : https://twitter.com/VendeeGlobeENG 🕺 TikTok : https://www.tiktok.com/@vendee_globe 💻 Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/VendeeGlobe 💼 LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/company/vendée-globe/
77 days. That's how long I have until the start of the Golden Globe Race. Sounds like plenty of time. Except right now the boat is out of the water, there is no mast on it, parts are arriving from different places, and somehow the to-do list keeps finding new ways to grow instead of shrink. Every time I cross something off, three new things appear. It's exciting. It's stressful. It's probably exactly where I'm supposed to be. The funny thing is that when people think about the start of the race, they picture the boats leaving the harbor. What they don't see are the months before it. The planning. The repairs. The deadlines. The last-minute surprises. The clock is ticking. The start line is getting closer. And somehow, whether I feel ready or not, September keeps coming 🌊 77 days to go.
