We struggled a lot to find a good storage space for our fenders. We considered various options, such as storing them around the mast, at the aft swim platform, and even deflating them for air 💨 After many trials and errors, we finally found a solution that works very well for us. The cracked part I pointed out is BMW part number 51221817032, "Circlip", on parts diagram page: bodywork - trunk lid - trunk lid/closing system. If you can't get in through your back seats at all, apparently dealers drill a hole under the license plate to reattach the mechanism, which I think this video should be a useful reference for.
