We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others. We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran! We hope you enjoy what we do. Please subscribe, like and share.
If you want to live the life you’ve always dreamed of, start by surrounding yourself with the things you love. Be in the places that inspire you and surround yourself with people who share your passion. Love sailing and ocean crossings? Go where people are looking for crew, like the Canary Islands - right now, Gran Canaria, where the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) sets off every November, with the 2024 start date being November 24. If nature and hiking are your thing, move to the woods, get a van, or find a small cabin. Small house living is more affordable than ever, and you can create a life that matches your dreams. If writing is your passion, take courses, connect with authors, and immerse yourself in that world. Want to be a musician? Save up, get an instrument, and learn it. Surround yourself with musicians and let that environment fuel your passion. It’s not about whether you can afford it right now - everyone has to find ways to support themselves financially. But you can support yourself and follow your dreams at the same time. I’ve been there. I left Germany six years ago to live the life I’ve always wanted, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I work to afford my dream lifestyle and live in the places I always wanted to be. If I can do it, so can you.💫 #dreamchaser #inspirationdaily #followyourpassion #mindfulness #oceanvibes #chaseyourdreams #naturelovers #minimalistliving #selfgrowth #lifestylegoals #healingjourney #escapethenorm #adventureawaits #liveyourbestlife #motivation #uniquelifestyle #calmvibes #innerpeace #fypシ
When we sailed the island of Lefkas in the Ionic Sea of Greece, on the most southeastern side of the island, is an islet called Atokos. This is an uninhabited island, where on the east coast is the famous Wild Pig Beach. We took our dinghy and looked at the pigs that walked on the beach here. The pigs are wild or semi-wild pigs, probably descendants of animals that were once left on the island by humans. This happens more often on uninhabited islands, where pigs are introduced for food purposes or accidentally stranded by ship voyages. Atokos has been uninhabited for a long time, but in the past it was occasionally visited by shepherds or hunters. The pigs may have come from these. They eat a wide range of plants, seeds, roots and nuts that occur in nature. On Atokos vegetation is sparse, but pigs can eat dried grass and branches. Marine life can also be a source of food; some pigs eat washed-up seaweed or small crustaceans. Although pigs are technically wild, they often exhibit semi-tame behaviors when they come into contact with people. Their behavior depends on how much interaction they have had with visitors. They can tolerate human contact, but often remain wary. Some pigs are curious and dare to approach, especially if they smell food!
