Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them. Shamrock Quay is a marina steeped in history, taking its name from the famous J-class yacht, Shamrock V when she had her first refit at the site in 1967. The 255-berth marina is still a major centre for refit and boat building with many specialist trades on site, as well as a café, menswear store and The Bistro Shamrock Quay bar and restaurant. With a 70 metre superyacht berth, a 60 metre visitor berth and a modern shower and toilet block, including disabled facilities, Shamrock Quay is able to cater for all boat owners. Find your perfect berth at https://www.mdlmarinas.co.uk/quote.

From Ancient Routes to Modern Marvels: Discover the Rio-Antirrio Strait The Patras Bridge (Rio-Antirrio Bridge) is located at the strait of Rio-Antirrio, at the transition between the Gulf of Patras and the Gulf of Corinth. The first person to officially cross the Rio-Antirrio Bridge was a torchbearer as part of the Olympic Torch Relay for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. The Rio-Antirrio Bridge is one of the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges. • It connects the Peloponnese peninsula (Rio) with mainland Greece (Antirrio), near the city of Patras. • Officially opened in August 2004, just before the Athens Olympic Games. • Named after Charilaos Trikoupis, a 19th-century Greek Prime Minister who first proposed the idea of such a bridge.
