What does it really take to build a winning IMOCA? Long before launch day, before the first sail is hoisted or the stopwatch starts, a new boat is shaped by countless questions, bold ideas, and fine margins. With its upcoming docu-series Born to Race, Team Malizia invites you behind the scenes of its next IMOCA build. Filmed throughout the construction process, the series follows the human, technical, and strategic journey of creating a top-performance racing yacht. From hull shape to sail design, from ergonomics that guide every movement onboard to the many layers of electronics, the team and their external experts explore the possibilities, imagining the options and challenges that lie ahead. Rather than simple build updates, Born to Race reveals the questions that drive the project: how a vision becomes reality, how experience fuels innovation, and how lessons from past campaigns shape the future. Published every last Wednesday of the month, the series captures the intensity, creativity, and collaboration behind a build that unfolds over time, leading towards the launch of Team Malizia’s future IMOCA in early summer 2026. 🎬 Episode 1 airs on Wednesday 28 January 2026, marking the start of a new chapter for Team Malizia, one that starts long before the boat hits the water.
