Who has not dreamed of living off-grid. Toni and I with our Seawind Catamaran thought this might be achievable, with our water maker, 1600 watts of solar, fishing skills and the like. But are we really ever off-grid, AIS tattling your course and speed, smart phones and smart watches lighting up the airwaves, cell towers pinging your location with every text message, and now eyes in space. Back in the galley, and weβre cooking up some big plans! Hereβs what we want to optimize: π₯ Going Fully Electric: With our new lithium batteries and powerful inverter, weβre swapping out the old gas stove for an induction cooktop and air fryer oven. This upgrade will take Velaβs galley to the next levelβand itβs all part of going greener and more efficient before we set sail! π§ Fridge Upgrade: Our current fridge is the βstack-it-and-hope-for-the-bestβ type, and letβs just say, digging to the bottom for a forgotten yogurt isnβt exactly ideal. Weβre dreaming of a drawer or door-style fridge for better organization and access. These changes are still in development, but weβre super excited to bring more comfort and efficiency to life on board. Got any tips or ideas for galley upgrades? Weβd love to hear them!
