Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic provided an unforgettable week of Olympic sailing as the best young sailors from across Europe gathered to compete for medals at the Junior European Championships. A wide variety of wind conditions and sunny weather ensured exciting racing and great experiences on and off the water. The 2024 European Junior Championships in the 49er and 49erFX classes, together with the Eurocup event in the 29er class, brought an exciting 4 days of intense racing to the Lake Lipno for over 140 competitors from 18 nations. The event was held under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic Mr. Petr Pavel. On Thursday, despite a favourable forecast, there was only one race in the 49er and 49erFX classes as a storm thwarted the plans of the race committee. The Strike 15 has folding outriggers. This video shows a mock up of the unfolding system. The hulls and beams are real, but clearly unfinished. However the beambolts and attachments are temporary. Trailing width is 2200, approx 7ft The outrigger unfolds itself because the boat is on a slight slope, so gravity is forcing it to open. Normally one would pull it open by hand - very easy though Build your own Strike from plans by Woods Designs www.sailingcatamarans.com I also have a range of other multihull designs, both power and sail from 14-45ft that you can build yourself from plans

The current status: We’ve tested the fit, and our welder tack-welded the pipes while making final adjustments to ensure everything aligns perfectly 👌🏼 After that, we removed it again so he could complete the welding properly in his workshop.
