I don't often post other designers boats, but I make an exception here. Russell kindly asked me out for a short sail just before the start of the Race to Alaska (R2ak). It was ideal conditions for his boat and Russell sailed it perfectly. No real surprise considering the miles he has done on the boat. Certainly the best proa in the world (I have sailed a couple of others by world famous designers that were no match for Jzerro). Speed was steady in the mid teens. 9.8 knots yesterday afternoon while out sailing on this vintage sailboat! I know many of you have been much faster on a sailboat, but this was my fastest ever. The beautiful, long lines on this 43 foot 1963 Sparkman and Stephens helped get us up to speed. We were blowing past other boats! 😄 If two sailboats are going in the same direction, it's a race!
