What is Raiding? At our events, which span four days of sailing, each day's races (or non-competitive group sailing, depending on which boat you're on) are divided between our smaller craft and larger yachts. Routes are set by Matt and most participants are lined up for the starting sequence! Cream tea or a picnic moored up in a cove, the days vary depending on where we sail and the weather of course. Evenings are spent unwinding by the water with a cold drink, followed by a delicious meal and the day's prize-giving, always full of good humour. Some of the hardier sailors stay aboard their Swallow, while others opt for a more luxurious stay in nearby accommodations. Unlike traditional racing, raiding is all about camaraderie, strategy, and skill—without the use of engines. It’s just wind, water, and teamwork! We've finally made it to the Exumas. We left Morgans Bluff and made our way 78nm to Normans Cay in about 14 hours. The first 8 hours we motored but then the wind started to cooperate and we sailed the rest of the way from essentially the east-end of New Providence down to Normans Cay.
