Sea turtles live in the ocean, but they don’t have gills, so how do they survive underwater for so long? Here are some surprising facts that every ocean lover should know: 🌊 1. They Breathe Air, Just Like Us Sea turtles have lungs, not gills, so they must surface to breathe. 🐢 2. Incredible Breath-Holding Abilities When resting, they can hold their breath for 4 to 7 hours. While swimming, they come up for air every few minutes. 💨 3. Super-Fast Breathers They only need 1–2 seconds at the surface before diving again! 🌙 4. Nighttime Adaptation While sleeping, their heart rate slows down dramatically—conserving oxygen and allowing them to stay underwater even longer. 🧭 Want to See Sea Turtles in the Wild? We are very lucky to see lots of black tip reef sharks while scuba diving in Raja Ampat. These ones were filmed at a dive site in the Dampier Strait.

We've been told that this well-stocked Grocery in George Town Exumas is largely due, in part, by the effort of the Bahamas to make cruisers feel welcome here. Well, whatever the reason, this is one of the better stocked groceries in all of the Bahamas (that we've found)...Perhaps third to only New Providence and Spanish Wells. Thank you, George Town!
