Menton is perched on the side of the hill with a cemetery located at the top that has stunning views of the sea. It has an old and new part of the town and a fantastic market that reminds us of the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne @sailinghelios2023 Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sailinghelios Find us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sailinghelios2023/ #sailing #sailinghelios #jeanneausunodessey410 #sunodessey410 #menton #retiredlife #retirement #retiredcouple #boatlife

Giles Scott (GBR) had already wrapped up the Finn gold medal before contesting the Medal Race today, but Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) secured silver, the third Olympic medal of his career, while Caleb Paine (USA) sailed a great race to clinch bronze on the Pão de Açucar (Sugarloaf Mountain) course. All ten competitors had a shot at winning a medal of some colour, so close were the points going into today's finale. The exception was four-time and reigning World Champion Scott whose 24-point buffer made him unassailable for the gold medal. Ivan Gaspic (CRO) started the day in bronze medal position but the American Paine went better in the moderate winds to finish first across the line, which gave the ecstatic American the medal by a comfortable margin.

In Japan’s longevity hotspots, healthy aging is not reinforced only through healthcare or individual habits. It is woven into the annual rhythm of community life through rituals, festivals, preparation, participation, and shared responsibility across generations. Young and old working alongside one another. This Short reflects a central idea from my ongoing research and forthcoming book, Longevity and the Art of Community: Lessons from Japan, that a healthy lifespan may be deeply connected to whether the art of community remains practiced. About me: I’m Lowell Sheppard, 71, sailor, author, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I’m the Founder of the Never Too Late Academy and Special Advisor to the International Forum. Through Japan Solo Field Notes, I explore aging, place, community, and longevity across Japan.
