In this video we’re sailing upwind in 35+ knots of breeze in Johnstone Strait during the VanIsle360 race with a double-reefed main sail and storm jib. A crew member is on the foredeck securing the #3 jib we had previously been flying in the short video https://youtube.com/shorts/VRAEp8M49Y4, but ripped in half. The head literally ripped right off. He is wearing a harness and tether! The sky is completely blue, but everybody is still completely soaked from the spray. Lots of sails were destroyed in that leg, including the #3 jib that is now on the foredeck. On 12th januar 2015 the new HM830 takes test flights to compare with its twin 8broken and repaired) brother. Now that I achieved some experience with the older one, flying should be easy right? Well, it was, but as always, holding the camera and controlling is not easy at all!! Average flight times passed 2 minutes, promised!! This time we see a really short flight. It dives, making me think it's gonna crash but then throttle up it comes back up, nose too high, airspeed goes down to zero and here we have a stall :S
