Where have we been? We've been spending 100% of our time creating SSL Season 7 for YOU, and this is our new channel trailer for it! It starts in Colombia before we set sail for the absolute spectacle of islands known as the San Blas Islands of Panama, then we make several stops along the Panama coast, including a stop at the Panama Canal and Panama City where we put our feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time! From there we take you on a ride to the remote islands of San Andres and Providencia in the middle of the Caribbean Sea which are owned by Colombia, before sailing through the pirate waters of Nicaragua to make landfall at another tiny island paradise north of Honduras! Extra stops at Roatan, Utila, and Belize are all on the horizon in SSL Season 7... If you haven't yet subscribed, what are YOU waiting for? NOW IS THE TIME! The 2360 watts of solar and 1200 amps of lithium are enough to power the water maker or the air conditioner without the generator. The rain head shower head on the port scoop is perfect after using the swim platform to enjoy the crystal clear water. The galley is outfitted with all the comforts of home and you can choose to cook with gas/electric or microwave. After a long day of sailing the front deck has cushions for relaxing and an awning for shade...while the owners stateroom has a king bed to retire in comfort. So many added touches make her special, she is clearly a well loved boat! How to save someone that goes overboard and you’ve got both sails up? Without tacking or jibing, you go into a broad reach, bring the sails in tight, and heave-to. The sheets stay as they were. You’re effectively putting the sails over to the wrong side of the boat. By doing this you put the boat in position for the casualty to drift towards the boat and you also stop forward motion. With the engine, you then go forward and backward lining up the casualty along the beam of the boat…waiting for the person to drift down. Have you ever done this kind of MOB procedure? It’s not commonly taught in sailing schools. Follow us for more tips on becoming a confident sailing cruiser! #sailingexperience #sailingexperiences #learntosail
The Whiskey Plank is the final plank required to complete the outer shell of a wooden hull. With this major milestone, it is traditional to take a brief moment to celebrate the mounting of the whiskey plank with a celebration involving shots of whiskey all around... so that’s what we did as we installed the last plank on Hull 1 of the of the LM46! This is our third cold-molded hull in as many years and we’re really enjoying tying tradition together with our modern approach to yacht construction. 🎥: @mackenzie_lyman
