The first Wednesday night race of Strangford Lough Yacht Club 2025 season got under way in perfect sailing conditions. With 8 to 10 knots of breeze and blue skies the sailing season could not have got off to a better start. As the sunset in the west two River class yachts were locked in a tight battle. As they glided under the setting sun on a picture perfect evening of racing finished with a sailing sunset. The team at bottom up boats an excited that the 2025 season is up and running. Going to Red was locked in close combat with the Sigma 400 Sunrise. The wind was ranging between 15 and 20 knots on the first beat with J109 Going to just behind Sunrise in a really close cross on the approach to the top mark. Sunrise was leading West Highland Yacht Week after the end of the the first two races with Going to read sitting in 6th place. The bottom up boats team having a great time at WHYW, the weather is not great but the sailing and the social life is more than making up for the damp conditions.
