It's probably one of the projects we've gotten the most comments/questions about in the build so far, so I know so many of you have been really looking forward to this one. As you might already know, we've decided to go with spray foam for the majority of the hull for several reasons which we break down for you in the video. The process is VERY interesting and VERY messy, and ended up taking an extra day to get it all done perfectly, and then of course the clean up process was a massive undertaking in and of itself. The path out of the Strangford lough narrows on the way to the Irish Sea keeps any captain on their toes. With the tide racing almost as fast as the wind and plenty of rocks and depth changes you always have the chance to see some whirlpools while working to windward. The team on J109 GTR watch the waves build as the rudder was whipped from left to right as we past once of the larger whirlpools on the way to the strangford lough bar.
