A few final days in Japan before an early flight south. This short video captures some familiar New Year sights: Mount Fuji from the train, the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree, and the crowds taking part in the annual tradition of visiting a shrine. After five weeks away overseas with family, and finishing the manuscript of my latest book during a brief return to Tokyo, Iâm heading back toward my boat, Wahine, in remote Uken Inlet on Amami Island. This onboard video was taken while racing the Didi 26 "Umoya" on Table Bay in South Africa. The log shows 10.9 knots but was not working. The GPS showed actual speed of 18 knots.
