Initially located by the sea, the prizegiving had to be moved indoor in a safer place inside the village @gilles_martin_raget

Sailing in the Bahamas is not all hot and sunny! This video shows the cold front arriving on Jan 23rd. The only good thing was we collected 150L of drinking water in 30 minutes....It could have been more if I had been brave enough to go outside to swap over tanks

The third passage race of West Highland Yachting week 2022 from Tobermory to Oban once again provided some close racing at the first turning mark. The J109 BlueJay just got across the bow of the second J109 Going to Red. The they were closely followed by the 3rd J109 Salamander who was forced to go wide as the fast charging Sigma 400 Sunrise with no mark room decided to ignore the rules and gybe in side rather than luffing to keep clear. It was a little disappointing that Sunrise failed to do any penalty turns after breaking the rules, karma came to the rescue of the boats who followed the rules as Sunrise's kit wrapped around the forestay which allowed Salamander to luff up under them retaking 3rd place on the long run to Oban. BlueJay showed a clean pair feels leading from start to finish just beating Salamander to win the race, GTR learnt that polars are king when one design racing and learnt the hard way that low and slow is not the way to go when racing a J109 down wind. There was lots of tight racing across the whole week which made for a great regatta in the Scottish Highlands. The team at Bottom Up Boat hope you are enjoying the action from WHYW 2023.

With several turtles recently nesting on Green Island, it was a wonderful sight this week as around 100 young hatchlings, believed to be Green Turtles, emerged from their nests to scramble towards the waters edge. http://www.green-island.com.au/ http://www.greenislandresort.com.au/
