We have sailed the beautiful bay of Napels with our catamaran. There is so much to see: the city of Napels, Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri. And also being in the harbors and looking at the villages build up the hills, make you realize that 2.000 year of history with the Roman Empire lives together with modern society! For example, this is Porto di Baia, our drone flies from our boat in that harbor to the modern city and suddenly you see that above that modern city the remains of an old city is there. The old city that is now excavated, was build on the wall of an ancient Volcanic crater. Also the dome you see later in the video, is the Temple of Diana, the largest best preserved dome chamber after the Pantheon in Rome. It was a thermal complex making use of the hot waters in the ancient volcanic crater, that was build in 300 AC. Amazing that this dome was not discovered until the end of the nineteenth century when metropolitan lines were build and they discovered that beneath the modern city, was this huge thermal complex. At first, the connection with Diana, the goddess of the hunt, was not clear, until they discovered a marble relief depicting a series of animals, and more animals covered the walls and ceilings. Enjoy flying over this beautiful area around the harbor where the remains of the ancient Roman Empire as so close.

Giorno 315 - SICILIA. Ci eravamo lasciati con una notte da trascorrere in mare e ci ritroviamo qui, a raccontarvi un altro pezzo del nostro viaggio e della nostra vita. La notte si prospetta tranquilla secondo ogni modello meteo consultato. Ma quando vedi nuvole e fulmini, l’attenzione si alza e ti prepara a possibili cambiamenti. Complice anche il bombardamento di video che stiamo vedendo su quello che è successo da poco a Ibiza e Formentera. Per fortuna tutto scorre tranquillo, nessuna goccia dal cielo, ma molta umidità su Julia. Arriviamo a Trapani nel pomeriggio, in una giornata di sole. Domani sarà una giornata di sistemazione e visita della città. Quanti di voi stavano già seguendo il nostro viaggio quando vi abbiamo portati con noi e Alberto a scoprire le Egadi e Trapani? 🪢 Sunday Boat Tip [14/52] 🪢 Sharing cards is a popular way to share information to stay in touch with other cruisers 👋🏻 It’s easy and fast, and with this lifestyle people tend to not have their phones on them all the time, which makes cards an even greater advantage. We made our design ourselves, but it’s easy to find templates online (for instance in the Canva app) or reach out to someone who could design them for you if you have special ideas. Just make sure to check the format if you use a template, I believe classic business cards have different size standards in different countries which could be a problem once you send them for print. Ours are just in normal business card style paper, but in hindsight, some kind of waxed paper would be nice so it could withstand some water 💦😅 Don’t forget to save this post and share it with a friends who needs to see this 🫶🏼
