Night sailing just got easier! 🌙⛵ Sector lights are a crucial navigation tool for every beginner sailor. When you view the beam dead-on, it appears white — this means you are in the safe sector. Drift too far to one side and the color changes: green tells you your angle is incorrect and to turn port, while red signals danger and a course correction to starboard. Understanding sector lights helps you avoid hazards, shoals, or drifting off course at night. Improve your sailing safety, navigation skills, and confidence on the water with this quick sailing tutorial! ⛵ Learn More • Sail Better • Stay Safe ✨ If you’re new to sailing — subscribe for more beginner sailing tips, navigation basics, knots, boating safety, and real-world seamanship lessons! 🎓 Watch our full navigation tutorial here ➜ https://youtu.be/30csRFMZh24 📘 Download your free navigation cheat sheets ➜ bit.ly/LatestCheats
We made a 7sqm screecher for our 14ft plywood Zeta trimaran and tried it today. As you can see from the mirror like surface there wasn't much wind! It was all a lash up, I have no cleats for mainsheet or screecher so had to handhold everything. But it sailed well and tacked easily. You can build your own Zeta trimaran from 7 sheets of ply in 150 hours. The boat weighs 73kgs, 160lbs, ex rig.
