El snuffer, que es como se conoce en inglés, es una ayuda súper importante en el izado y arriado de velas portantes tales como los spinnakers o spi y los gennakers, ya que las desventa. se tira de un cabo tira-vira y el calcetín baja introduciendo la vela dentro de sí mismo. Al suceder esto, la vela pierde toda la potencia y se iza o arría sin dificultad. Avant de quitter le Québec, nous avons passé l'été à Tadoussac, en vivant sur notre voilier. Dans ces eaux à 4°C, on trouve des bélugas, des phoques, des baleines, etc. En cette petite sortie d'après-midi, on a eu la chance de voir passer un rorqual à 20 pieds du bateau!!!! Jamais on a vu une baleine d'aussi proche!
