We caught up with Team Loustic SuperSonic waiting out the weather at the John Wayne Marina. They told us all about their hull and deck coming apart. The deck is attached with pop rivets and many of them failed along one side for about two meters of the seam—when they realized the boat was acting sluggish, they looked inside to see at certain tacks, waves of water coming in filling the boat with about 100 gallos of water. They have since repaired it quite nicely and they're drying off all their gear, ready to go on. The boat otherwise handled really well.

We're going to give it a good look through, and you'll read the review about it on boats.com. This 24 footer is designed for anglers who like to fish both the flats and the bay, and maybe once in awhile even pop outside the inlet. As you can see it's plenty big, it can handle some seas, but it still can run in really shallow water. And with that 300hp Yamaha on the back, oh yeah, it really runs. Well we're done our test ride, sorry you couldn't join us. Read the review on boats.com for more information.

Greg Gheraia director of BLACKORANGE SuperYacht Experts says that the lockdowns "really made us think about life and spending more time with loved ones. If you were thinking about buying a super yacht before the pandemic then in 2020 you were buying a superyacht.” Most clients were simply looking for some freedom after various lockdowns. Having more time on their hands was also a contributing factor to the sales surge.
