Vi har passerat ekvatorn och firade med bubbel/cola och chips direkt efter frukost🥂. Klockan var 08.26 och vi kryssade fram i 8.3knop, tack vare medströmmen, när plottern visade 0.00grader. Mäktig känsla att passera ekvatorn och det är även en seglartradition att bli godkänd av Kung Neptunus. Så han kom på besök under eftermiddagen och renade oss från landlivets synder och krönte oss till erfarna havsseglare. 🎉⛵️ Allt om ceremonin och firandet filmades så ni får se mer av det på söndagens youtube-avsnitt!▶️ Nu ska vi fortsätta  "stampa på" i kryss vidare mot Galapagos. Vårt nästa delmål på seglingen till Franska Polynesien. När vi passerat Galapagos kan vi kursändra och få en mer behaglig segling. Det ser vi fram emot ⛵️💙 Området runt Galapagos är naturskyddsområde så vi behöver hålla ca 80nm avstånd annars kan man få böter på 1000dollar. ⛵️ Tycker ni att vi klarade Neptunus prövningar? Hull #29, dating from 2012, has spent 4 months at the Monfalcone yard in Italy undergoing a full refit carried out by the builders themselves: structural and mast inspection, bulkhead rework, replacement of engines, sails, electrics, plumbing, electronics, headlinings, upholstery, etc. Nothing escaped the Lagoon experts! What’s more, the catamaran, repainted in Star & Stipes blue, is now equipped with solar panels, a lithium battery bank, low-energy air conditioning and a wastewater treatment system. The cost of this more than complete refit (there are four levels of packs) is in the order of € 800K for a unit that trades on the second-hand market for amounts from € 1.3M. This brings the total to € 2.1M, which compares with the cost of a new, fully-loaded Lagoon 60 at around € 3.2M. A substantial difference that could well attract players in the luxury charter market. This new 100% renewable-energy cruising catamaran has already proven its technological prowess by completing a circumnavigation of Spain without using any fossil fuels. The ModX 70 is equipped with the latest technology, enabling it to operate without a generator on board. To achieve this feat without jeopardizing safety, the MODX 70 designers decided to launch a catamaran large enough to support a very powerful battery bank (230 kWh in fact!) while increasing the potential area of the solar panels - it stretches to 750 square feet (70 m²). The two motors are capable of a 100-mile range. The fully automated rig is perhaps the most amazing feature as the two retractable carbon masts - one on each hull - each support a 1,345 sq ft (125 m²) inflatable wing that can reach 75 feet (23 meters) in height. The build involved using 38% biosourced epoxy resin, 40% recycled PET foam, flax fiber and cork. One last point to highlight: This catamaran of the future is nothing like an uncomfortable prototype—quite the opposite, in fact. The layout is as comfortable as it is well finished.
