http://features.boats.com/boat-content/2013/03/hurricane-sundeck-2690-deck-boat-quick-video-tour/ For more videos from the Miami Boat Show, visit www.boats.com. Hurricane unveiled its new SunDeck 2690 model at the Miami International Boat Show, and this wide-beam family boat will be the brand's new flagship. Hurricane arguably invented the deck boat concept back in 1974 with a craft that placed a wide-open pontoon-style deck over a fiberglass hull. This hybrid offered the planing performance of a runabout with the elbow room of pontoon boats. Most of today's deck boats look more like a runabout, and the SunDeck 2690 is no exception, with its gracefully descending shear line and wrap-around windshield. It's the broad bow, which maximizes space forward, that sets this big deck boat apart from bowriders in this size range.

At 0700 UTC - day 3 - Roschier Baltic Sea Race: “Tschüss is in 30-35 knots of wind and it has been a bit bumpy!” commented Campbell Field, Tschüss 2 navigator on Monday morning 29th July. “Our ETA is a bit tricky to predict because our polars say we should be at 20 knots, but that wasn’t possible with this sea state. Right now (0800 UTC), the sea state has eased up a bit, the throttle is wide open, two reefs and the J4 on and hitting 24kt of boat speed at times. 96nm to go!”
