Built in 1916 as a herring drifter, Iris has been transformed into a comfortable charter vessel exploring the Baltic Sea. Her traditional ketch rig, sturdy steel hull and nine sails make her the perfect boat for experiencing authentic tall ship sailing in Scandinavia. Owned and skippered by sailing couple Jans and Liv, Iris offers a relaxed and welcoming introduction to life aboard a traditionally rigged sailing ship. Guests are encouraged to get involved with all aspects of sailing, from hoisting the sails and taking the helm to learning basic navigation and rope work. No previous sailing experience is needed. During the summer, Iris sails along the Swedish coast and Danish islands, visiting remote anchorages, coastal towns and harder-to-reach destinations best explored by boat. From coastal sailing and offshore adventures to tall ship racing and taster trips, there are plenty of ways to experience the Baltic Sea from the water. Life aboard Iris is comfortable, relaxed and sociable. She accommodates up to 12 guests across six twin cabins, with generous communal spaces, a large saloon, dining area and plenty of room to relax on deck. After a day of sailing, settle in with good food, music and conversation, or stretch out on deck and watch the Scandinavian coastline go by.
