It was all plan sailing until the skipper forgot to duck. The speed at which the boom crosses the boat during a gybe makes it a dangerous weapon. Last week I visited the ARES Shipyard in Turkey. If you have ever seen the documentary video I produced there last year, you will know that they have built a solid reputation for constructing military craft and are now offering an eye catching 62m super sailing yacht called SIMENA.
