This week we discuss big heavy sailboats for sailing the Bahamas and Caribbean, living on a sailboat, and why while they hold their value and can sail oceans and big waves, they might not be the right choice to retire on a sailboat or sail from Bimini Bahamas to Grenada. We look at the Island Packet 420 and Island Packet 440 compared to Beneteau, Jeanneau, Catalina, and Hunter Legend including the Cataina 32 MKII, Hunter Legend 40.5, Beneteau 423, and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42 DS.
A massive catamaran launches over a towering wave right beside a small sailboat — water exploding everywhere, sails snapping in the wind, and the crew hanging on tight! Captured from a raw GoPro bow angle with ultra-realistic sea motion. This is pure ocean adrenaline! ⚡🌊⛵ #Sailing #Catamaran #SailingLife #OceanStorm #BigWaves #Sailboat #ExtremeSailing #GoProFootage #YachtLife #SeaAdventure #ViralShorts #BoatPass
Safety is key when climbing the mast onboard Linnea! And this is our version 2.0 🤯 Always use two lines in case one will fail! At the beginning we used two running halyards, which meant that the one on deck was controlling two lines at the same time, tightening one and then the other and so on. It worked, but it was a very time consuming solution and it wasn’t very safe either! Doing this instead, the one on deck only have one line to control. The prusik knot is controlled by the person in the mast, who simply just moves it along the static halyard (the one attached to the foot of the mast) while going both up and down. Simple as that! Let us know what you think of this! Do you think this is a good solution or do you have a better one you like to share? How do you do when you climb the mast? Don’t forget to save this video 🫶🏼
