Sailing through Stewart island, at the bottom of New Zealand, we came across a cage diving boat, who was chumming the water for their clients. We tied to the back of them and saw 5-7 great whites circling our boats. What happened next was CRAZY! SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. We found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing across the Pacific Ocean!! To maximise our time in the air we opted for a carefully timed run from Bankstown Airport which worked to perfection! Unfortunately our flight was somewhat curtailed after an early recall due to thunderstorm activity in the area of Bankstown Airport. What a different take on the race this year, with an east sou'easterly breeze scattering the fleet to all corners as soon as they left the harbour. More to come over the next few days.
