Sailing to Vis – Alitis Yachting Imagine gliding over the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, the sails full of wind, sun kissing your skin, and the distant silhouette of Vis Island slowly taking shape on the horizon. At Alitis Yachting, we specialize in creating unforgettable sailing experiences, and a trip to Vis is one of our most beloved routes for good reason. Why Vis? Vis is one of Croatia’s most enchanting islands. Once a military base, it remained closed to foreign visitors until 1989, preserving its authentic charm and natural beauty. Today, Vis offers a peaceful escape, untouched landscapes, and a rich cultural heritage that makes it a must-visit destination for sailing enthusiasts. The Journey Departing from Šolta or other nearby marinas, your sailing journey with Alitis Yachting takes you through some of the most scenic parts of the Dalmatian coast. With a professional skipper at the helm, you can relax and enjoy every moment—from quiet coves perfect for swimming to lively seaside villages offering fresh seafood and local wine. Our modern sailing yachts are fully equipped for comfort and safety, and our skippers are not just experienced sailors—they’re your guides to discovering hidden gems that only locals know. Highlights of Vis Stiniva Cove – Frequently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Europe, this narrow bay with dramatic cliffs is accessible mainly by boat. Blue Cave (Modra špilja) – Located on the nearby island of Biševo, the cave glows with ethereal blue light at midday. A short detour worth every second. Komiža and Vis Town – These two picturesque towns on opposite sides of the island offer cozy harbors, charming stone streets, and a relaxed island vibe. Local Cuisine – Try traditional dishes like peka or grilled fish, and don’t miss Vis’ famous wines, especially the white Vugava and red Plavac Mali. Why Sail with Alitis Yachting? At Alitis Yachting, we believe sailing is more than a vacation—it’s a journey of discovery. Our skippered charters are designed to give you the freedom to explore, with the comfort of knowing you're in expert hands. Whether you're an experienced sailor or a complete beginner, we tailor each trip to your pace and preferences. Let us handle the wind and waves, while you soak in the sun, scenery, and the soul of the Adriatic. Ready to Set Sail? Vis is waiting. Welcome to Day 2 of our Christmas calendar! 🎄 Today, we’re diving into the galley—our compact yet highly functional kitchen on Vela. ⛵ Placed on the starboard side, just behind the nav station, our galley is designed for safety and efficiency: ✨ Longitudinal layout ensures we can cook securely even when the boat heels. ❄️ Big fridge and freezer for all our provisions. 🔥 Gas stove for cooking up delicious meals, even mid-passage. 💦 Double sink with 3 water outlets: Pressurized fresh water (hot/cold) Manual fresh water pump Manual saltwater pump (great for rinsing without wasting fresh water). On the opposite side, we have a spacious prepping area, and while we once had a microwave, we’ve replaced it with storage and an espresso machine—because we appreciate a good cup of coffee! ☕ What would you cook in this galley? Drop your ideas or questions in the comments! 👇 🎥 See you tomorrow for the next part of our boat tour! 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #LifeAtSea
What makes a sailing ship a yacht? “The attention paid to every detail and the remarkable result of it all,” says Damien Jacob, product director for sailboats at Groupe Beneteau. That's why the designers Roberto Biscontini and Lorenzo Argento, made no concessions when designing the new Oceanis Yacht 60. A subtle interplay of proportions and gentle inverted transparency create the kind of space you typically find on a 62-foot boat, while maintaining an elegant design and excellent seaworthiness. These unique features result in a true blue water yacht that offers excellent performance.
