► Since 1973, the La Rochelle Boat Show, known simply as “Le Grand Pavois” in French, has been THE not-to-be-missed afloat show on France’s Atlantic coast. With 750 boats on display and a record 80,000 visitors, the 2023 event (that ran from September 20 to 25, so a little earlier than usual) clearly benefited from the scheduled absence of the Paris Boat Show at the end of the year. According to the organizers, no more than 10 square feet was left available at the Port des Minimes! Of course, the Multihulls World team was there. These weeks are a fantastic introduction to European canal cruising as well as exploring the lovely Frisian Islands. Your cabin awaits! Join us for a week of sailing aboard a traditional Dutch "Lemsteraak" to explore the shallow seas of the Frisian Islands and travel inland via the Dutch Canals. Depending on whether we will be able to visit 3 or 4 of the lovely Frisian Islands. In this area it's important to take tides and currents into consideration so we will go over tidal calculations and methods.
