I’m not a taxi driver — and here’s why. 😅 When you hire a yacht with a captain, it’s not just about taking you from A to B or making stops along the way. Yes, of course we stop in beautiful places… but my role is much more than that. As a captain, I set the atmosphere on board. I make sure the trip feels safe, fun, and alive. The captain is not just steering the yacht, he’s the soul of the crew. ⚓️✨

Enjoy another colorful view of Friday Afternoon At the George Town Dinghy Dock. Just when we thought the George Town Dinghy Dock couldn't get busier...we're surprised again.

After what feels like weeks of waiting, we are finally putting some miles under the keel again. We're on our way to Guna Yala (the San Blas islands), sailing upwind along the North coast of Panama. We haven't done a great deal of upwind sailing on this voyage so far, but that's about to change - Antigua is 1000 miles directly upwind, and the Caribbean trade winds are strong, squally, and often bring big seas. Today is good practice for us, beating into a relatively comfortable 15 - 18 knots with moderate seas, 2 reefs in, 5 - 6 kn boat speed, and ironing out all sorts of little issues that come up.

Jump onboard MOD70 #PowerPlay as she blasts around the Isle of Wight! Finally, we return to competitive racing at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, the first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic! MOD70 PowerPlay, skippered by Ned Collier Wakefield, with Peter Cunningham on the tiller did the double this weekend, taking Multihull Line Honours and the win after MOCRA time correction. “I have been in quarantine for 14 days, so that was a release!” smiled Peter Cunningham. “That is the first time I have raced around the island. The sun was shining, a beautiful day, a great boat, top crew and a fun race. This was a fantastic way to come out of quarantine. We plan to do more RORC racing during August and September." 📹 Lloyd Images #RORCracing #RaceTheWight
