Enjoying a sail on Squib Satyr and (at last) a decent F3 breeze. The wind did pick up at time to a F4 which had the boat heeling well over and showing us what she can do. You can learn so much by taking whatever camera is available to you. Practice your buoyancy, composition, and editing. Then, when you're ready, you can move on to a more advanced setup. I recommend lights as the first big investment. Underwater photography and videography is an expensive hobby, so especially if you're on a budget, you want to be practical about your equipment decisions. Tell me what equipment you're working with!
